A BODY recovered from a Radcliffe reservoir on Friday has been identified as that of missing Bury man Zbigniew Lazurek.
The 50-year-old disappeared from his Peers Street home on January 18. It is believed Mr Lazurek had left behind a note and had taken a quantity of tablets with him.
Extensive searches by police divers of all nearby lodges and lakes and foot patrols covering open and woodland proved fruitless.
His body was spotted by a member of the public in the Withins Reservoir on Friday morning.
The police's underwater search unit was called in to recover the body which was formally identified following a post mortem examination on Saturday.
It is believed his body may have been in the water for at least two weeks.
