VISITORS to Pendle Community Hospital, Nelson, in March will be greeted by images of peacocks and paisley as part of a new exhibition.
The display of textile wall hangings was created by artist Lynne Stein, patients, staff and visitors during Lynne's residency in both Burnley and Pendle hospitals.
The project is part of the "Learning in Hospitals" scheme being developed by the county council's adult education service and Burnley Health Care NHS Trust.
It was funded by a grant from the North West Arts Board, as part of the Year of the Artist scheme, the Stocks Massey Bequest Fund and the County Council's Arts Unit.
County Councillor Dorothy Westell explained the thinking behind the scheme.
She said: "The links between good health and successful learning are well documented. We are proud to be able to support talented artists in their work. This particular display will please patients, visitors and staff alike.
"Further innovative and exciting learning projects are under development so that people can continue to learn new ways of expressing art."
