GREAT HARWOOD 1 CURZON 3
GREAT Harwood go into tomorrow night's local derby against Rossendale in good heart despite extending their league run without a win to eight games.
Boss Denis Underwood feels the players he has at the NWCL Division One bottom club can turn the season around and a victory in the local derby would be a huge boost.
It seemed to be going well on Saturday when they got off to the perfect start. With just three minutes on the clock, Graham Lightbown's cross was powered home from close range by big striker Martin Horsfield.
Harwood held firm until Curzon broke away on the stroke of half-time, David Wheatley converting at a crucial time for the visitors.
Jason Dormer gave Curzon the lead on 56 minutes, his initial effort had a lucky deflection of Neil Baron and Dormer was able to convert past Daryll Sloane.
Harwood came close to an equaliser, a Richard Fogarty cross scuffed at by unmarked John Riley six yards out, and Curzon went straight up the field and got their third, Jason Mitton making it safe seven minutes from time.
