I HAVE just been on holiday in New York and during my trip I took a bus tour of the city as most tourists do.
The bus went to The Battery, Empire State Building, Greenwich Village, and, of course, China Town.
While we were shopping in China Town, I wondered why we in Blackburn are not taking advantage of the atmosphere, shops and the facilities that are in the Asian quarter.
It could be a source of pride and interest as well as an asset to the town.
We would all benefit -- the Asian community could revel in its uniqueness and we could learn more.
Perhaps the town could then be "us," instead of "them and us," or am I over-simplifying things?
