I AGREE with Dennis Cannon (Letters, January 20), mobile phone masts -- it might take 25 years for the effects of microwaves from them to be seen in human beings.
Residents of the Moss Street area in Blackburn have organised a petition against the erection of a mast in Daisyfield railway sidings.
There are two schools close by. Most of the people who signed the petition have children.
Why put this mast in a residential area?
Why not put it in the Greenbank Business Park or near the satellite dishes on high ground, or, better still, put it on the new town hall, then it will affect everyone in the whole of Blackburn.
M WALMSLEY, Moss Street, Blackburn.
