Congleton 10 Ruskin Park 20
RUSKIN resumed winning ways with this hard-fought win at Congleton.
The visitors started strongly and applied plenty of pressure but could not turn this into points, although they opened the scoring with a Fisher penalty after 15 minutes.
Congleton though took the lead on the stroke of half-time with a converted try.
After a half-time pep talk, Ruskin looked more determined and took the lead with a brilliant 70-yard solo effort by D. Birch, converted by Stu Fisher.
Further pressure from Ruskin brought another blockbusting try by Martin Swift again converted by Fisher, before a penalty goal to each team completed the scoring.
This was a good performance by Ruskin considering late team changes and unavailability.
