TWO goals in each half helped Stanley extend their unbeaten run to four games as they recorded a first league win away from home since October 21.
Accrington almost went ahead on 19 minutes when a Steve Hollis corner was met by Jay Flannery and his header was well saved at his near post by Colwyn Bay goalkeeper Richie Roberts.
Seven minutes later the Reds did go in front as an excellent passing move ended with Paul Mullin setting up Paul Burns in the penalty area and he blasted the ball into the net from 15 yards.
Stanley increased their lead on 33 minutes when Burns floated over a free kick and in-form striker Mark Ceraolo rose up to head home his fourth goal in as many games.
Colwyn Bay came back into the game when they pulled a goal back three minutes later, former Manchester United striker Deniol Graham latched onto a cross and fired the ball into the net.
After the break Stanley kept up the pressure and on 65 minutes Hollis struck a 25-yard free kick that Roberts saved brilliantly diving to his right. Three minutes later Gary Williams jinked his way down the left wing beating two defenders and sent over a low cross that Mullin got on the end of but his shot came back off the post.
Mullin scored his first league goal for two months on 71 minutes, Russell Payne crossed from the right and the tall striker rose up and his header squirmed under Roberts' body into the net.
Victory was sealed three minutes later when Mark Brennan, a two-goal hero on Saturday, made it 4-1 when Roberts turned a fierce shot by Williams onto the post and Brennan hammered the ball home from close range.
The home side on a nine match losing streak, did pull a goal back in stoppage time when Reds' skipper Flannery sliced a clearance into his own net.
