Prescot Cables 5 Glossop North End 0
AFTER their midweek draw at Rossendale United, Prescot returned to winning ways with this success which was hard-earned despite the emphatic scoreline.
This win also lifted Cables into fifth the North West Counties League Division One, and with 20 games still to play, the championship remains a realistic ambition.
Jensen gave Prescot the lead after 12 minutes but they were unable to add to that advantage in a closely-fought first half.
Glossop started the second half strongly and had Prescot on the back foot for the opening 15 minutes.
But the defence stood firm and provided the platform from which Prescot eventually took control of the game.
Jensen increased Prescot's lead in the 69th minute and, as the visitors ran out of steam, he completed his hat-trick in the 81st minute.
O'Callaghan completed the scoring with two goals in the dying minutes of the game.
This Saturday, February 24, Prescot entertain Cheadle Town at Valerie Park, kick-off 3pm.
