SIX local 'celebrities' whose names are carved indelibly in the town's success story are to be honoured for their efforts.

Graham Ashworth (Ravenhead Renaissance), Kathleen Duffy (Providence Hospital), Geoff Duke (motor cycling), Alex Murphy (Rugby League), Canon John Pennington (Holy Cross), and Tony Richards (Community Health) are to receive the Freedom of the Borough. They will be presented with their scrolls by the Mayor of St Helens, Councillor Pat Robinson, at a service to be held at Holy Cross Church, tomorrow (Friday, February 23) at 6pm. Dinner will follow in the town hall.
