EIGHT members of the St Helens Scrabble Group will be bidding for a hat-trick when they take part in an Open Tournament organised by Preston Scrabble Club on Saturday, March 3.
The Saints, as they are known, have taken part in the tournament for the last two years and despite being one of the smallest clubs in the North West, have produced the winner each time -- John Fearns in 1999 and Paul Ferris last year.
The group is always on the lookout for new members, experienced or beginners. Meetings are held on Thursdays from 12.30 to 4pm at Peter Street Community Centre and all are welcome.
