A GROUP of youngsters from across the borough will be setting off for a training weekend -- with the aim of helping to make them happy!
A party of 36 young people, along with 15 staff, will leave St Helens Town Hall for an outdoor education centre at Ruthin, North Wales on Friday, February 23 for a residential weekend which will have as its theme, 'Be Safe, By Happy'.
It will look at issues which affect youngsters including drug awareness, personal health development, sexual health, disability awareness, self-esteem and confidence-building, social inclusion and peer pressure.
The weekend will be staffed by workers from St Helens Council's youth service, social services, young carers project, careers service and health promotion unit and is funded by the Health Action Zone via the young people's drug reference group.
