LOCAL band Korova are following in the footsteps of The Beatles by wowing audiences at Liverpool's famous Cavern Club.
And the four talented lads, who took their title from the bar in the film 'A Clockwork Orange', are celebrating after beating off competition from hundreds of other bands in the North West, to win the Dawsons Music 'Play The Cavern' contest and top prize of £3,000 worth of Roland musical equipment.
Drummer Anthony Fildes said they were amazed by their victory and added: "The Cavern Club has got an amazing atmosphere -- there couldn't have been a better place for us to compete, especially because we played our first gig there just over a year ago".
Korova now hope to start playing further afield and are also working on their first CD as well as creating a website to promote their music.
Damian Burke, managing director of Dawsons Music said: "Korova are definitely a band to watch in the future and I hope that Dawsons have helped them along the way".
