BOC St Helens Gas and Gear Centre is launching a 'Vehicle Check' campaign to help improve road safety.

"More enthusiasts than ever before maintain their own vehicles and motor cycles", says John Llorca, manager of the centre in Washway Lane, Haresfinch. "However, it is vital for their own safety on the road and the safety of others that they understand how properly to carry out repairs, particularly those which require welding."

John is inviting all vehicle DIY enthusiasts to seek advice from the Gas and Gear Centre about welding technology for vehicles.

BOC will also provide free safety checks for all welding equipment brought in by vehicle enthusiasts. "We do not profess to be vehicle repair or MOT experts, but we believe our knowledge of welding and equipment is second to none", he said.

To ensure personal safety while carrying out welding and cutting, the centre is also offering a 'head-to-toe' range of personal safety equipment including visors, gloves and protective masks.

Anyone wanting to take advantage of BOC's offer can just turn up at the centre and ask for John Llorca.
