ALL police cars in the Lancashire Constabulary fleet will be getting an eye-catching new look over the coming weeks.
The fleet will now feature a special "half battenburg" livery similar to the design used on motorway vehicles.
Administration manager Ian Butterworth said: "Battenburg livery is supported by the Police Scientific Development Branch (PSDB) as being the most eye-catching and gives enhanced visibility to police vehicles in operational use.
"The change from the old red stripe livery will be phased in, with all new vehicles, including Vauxhall Astras, Land Rovers and Ford Transits having the new design applied.
"Road policing and motorway vehicles, such as the new Vauxhall Vectras and Mercedes, will be given the full Battenburg livery."
