BOGUS workmen robbed a pensioner of £4,000 after conning their way into his home.

The thieves stopped at the 86-year-old man's house in Kirkham Avenue, Blackpool, at 10.45am on February 7 with a ladder.

While one man went up the ladder, the other went inside to speak to the man and during this distraction £4,000 in £10 and £20 notes was taken from a drawer.

One is described as around 40 years old, 5ft 10ins, short dark hair, clean shaven and wearing dark blue clothing. He may have been called Ray.

The other was approximately 60 years old, 5ft 9ins, with an angular face, clean shaven and wore a woolly hat and a red and yellow jacket.

POLICE are still hunting two men who bungled an armed robbery at the HSBC bank in Oxford Square, Blackpool.

The two men broke into the rear of the bank at 9.45am on February 6 by forcing security bars and smashing a window.

They climbed into the bank and threatened staff and customers, brandishing a shotgun. One member of staff managed to press the alarm before the others locked themselves in the back room.

The robbers than ran off across the bowling greens at the back of the bank.

One is described as in his late 30s, 5ft 8ins,medium build, clean shaven, dressed in dark clothing and wearing a dark woollen balaclava and he spoke with a local accent.

The other is described as early 30s, 5ft 8ins, medium build, wearing a light coloured jacket and a balaclava.

A MOUNTAIN bike worth around £1,000 was stolen from outside a house on Hazeldene Road, Fleetwood, on Febraury 10.

The citrus yellow Dawes Edge mountain bike with purple handlebars and red brake pads was left outside the house at around 5.45pm.

The man who took it is described as approximately 20 years old, medium build, black hair and was wearing a blue and yellow bubble jacket and a black woollen hat.
