DANISH international star Brian Steen Nielsen has offered a "come and get me" plea to Preston boss David Moyes.

North End confirmed their interest in the 32-year-old AB Copenhagen midfielder after club officials watched him in action over the weekend.

Nielsen's contract with the Danish team Copenhagen expires at the end of the season and the experienced international indicated he wants to see out the remainder of his career at an English club where, he says, he can earn more money.

Nielsen has played 57 matches for Denmark in a lengthy international career -- most notably in the Euro 2000 finals -- and has a reputation as a hard-working defensive midfielder with a good kick from distance.

His previous clubs have been Turkish side Fenerbache, Vejle, Odense and Urawa Red Diamonds in Japan.

Speaking exclusively to The Citizen, Nielsen said: "I haven't heard anything from Preston myself as yet, but from what I have heard Preston North End seem like a good club and if they are prepared to offer me the right money I would be interested in a transfer.

"Of course, it matters to me that they (Preston) are only three points away from one of the play-off positions, as the Premiership is where it's all happening."

Whites' boss David Moyes confirmed the club's interest in the player at Preston's weekly press conference on Monday.

He said: "We watched him at the weekend, if that's anything to go on."
