ONE of the biggest names in jazz is coming to a school theatre in Blackburn next month.
Kenny Ball, who has been a household name since his first chart hit Samantha in the 60s, will be appearing with his band at the Westholme Theatre, at Westholme School, in Blackburn, on March 2.
The school itself has a strong tradition of jazz and its Swing Band plays regularly at concerts across East Lancashire. Around 50 students play the trumpet and other brass instruments and in Kenny Ball the pupils will have the chance to listen to a master at work.
Tickets will cost £10 for adults and £5 for students. They can be obtained from the box office at the school by contacting 01254 53447.
