SOCCER: Burnley boss Stan Ternent is having a look at Aberdeen's £1m outcast Paul Bernard.
The midfielder is on a week's trial at Turf Moor, following a couple of months at Burnley's First Division rivals Preston.
He turned out for the Clarets second string against Bolton on Wednesday-- and Ternent was impressed.
"He played in the reserves. We are just having a look at him, we have a look at a few," said the Burnley chief.
"He's a Scottish international, been at Aberdeen five years and cost the best part of a million pounds.
"He has had problems with injuries but he did quite well."
The Clarets boss also confirmed that there was no more news on Bournemouth defender Eddie Howe.
Burnley tabled a bid for the 23-year-old last week but the Cherries wanted more money. When asked if there was further development, Ternent simply said "no."
And he also said he hadn't heard the rumours linking him with Millwall's star striker Neil Harris.
"I don't know anything about that," he laughed.
