CHRIS Lucketti will shake hands with Stan Ternent, wish him the best -- and then strive to heap some misery on his former boss by beating the Clarets.
The Huddersfield captain makes the trip to Turf Moor tomorrow expecting to see a host of friendly faces -- at least before the game -- when he links up with his old Bury colleagues.
The central defender played a big part in the Ternent glory years at Gigg Lane, helping them to jump from the Third Division to the First in successive seasons in 1996 and 97.
And he's looking forward to renewing friendships with the likes of Lennie Johnrose, Gordon Armstrong, Dean West and former Terrier Ronnie Jepson again tomorrow.
"It will be great to see them and have a few words," said the 29-year-old who was born and still lives in Littleborough.
"I will shake Stan's hand before the match and wish him the best.
"He was a good manager for me and I enjoyed playing for him.
"I had a lot of good times at Bury. I have a lot of good memories.
"We have all been through a lot together.
"But friendship is forgotten once you start playing -- and then you renew it in the bar afterwards!"
Lucketti stayed with the Shakers the season after Ternent left to join the Clarets and then moved to the McAlpine Stadium in June 1999 in a £700,000 deal.
His first season there was hampered by injury after he broke his leg.
He still managed 29 appearances though and has lived up to his 'Captain fantastic' tag this season, helping Town recover from a dreadful start to the season, winning just one of their opening 21 games.
"At one point we were eight points adrift at the bottom, we started so badly and we just couldn't win.
"Then Lou Macari came in and really steadied the ship.
"He brought in Joe Jordan as his assistant manager and both have got a lot of experience.
"We have just been working hard in training and changing things around to good effect.
"In fact, we've done the reverse to Burnley.
"They started so well and have struggled a bit and we started badly but recently we have been on an unbeaten run of ten games before we lost to Gillingham last Saturday.
"But we have got back in there to give ourselves a fighting chance."
Lucketti has played against Burnley new boy Gareth Taylor but doesn't 'know him too well' but he does rate the other Clarets forwards he could be facing.
"Ian Moore has obviously got a lot of pace and you have got to be on your guard against Andy Payton, if he plays. He scores at all levels."
Lucketti has done a tour of the North West clubs listing Rochdale, Stockport and then Conference side Halifax on his CV before Mike Walsh snapped him up for the Gigg Lane outfit.
"I'll always look back at my time at Bury with fond memories.
"I was there for four years, went to Wembley when we missed out in the play-offs and then celebrated two promotions.
"Stan brought a lot of success to Bury and basically turned the club around. He did a fantastic job on a tight budget.
"But he has also done a good job at Burnley and, with no disrespect to Bury, Burnley are a bigger club with a lot more supporters."
But Lucketti's mind is fully focused now on helping Huddersfield charge away from the drop zone.
"We haven't had a good season and it's just a case of picking up enough points ourselves.
"It is always going to be a good atmosphere at Turf Moor, it's a good place to go.
"It's never easy but we won't worry about Burnley, we'll just worry about getting the win ourselves." Stan brought a lot of success to Bury and basically turned the club
around
