WATER polo player Arthur Rotherham has died, aged 73, just weeks after the death of his father, Ernie, 95, who for years was secretary of Atherton Swimming Club.
Mr Rotherham, who died on Sunday, lived in Leyland but grew up in Atherton where he was a member of the town's water polo side and Conservative Club.
A former coal industry fitter he later worked at Leyland Motors where he was a keen member of the target rifle shooting section.
Grandfather Mr Rotherham leaves a wife, Irene, and three sons.
The funeral is on Monday afternoon when a service will be held at Leyland followed by committal at Overdale, Bolton.
