LEIGH music society welcomes the longest running youth band in Great Britain to the Derby Room, Leigh on Sunday March 4.
Besses Boys' Band, founded in Manchester, has been nurturing talented boys and girls aged eight to 18 throughout a successful contesting history since 1943.
Rounding off the 29th season of the local music society the band that has entertained everyone from the Queen to radio and television audiences will be coming to Leigh, ending another successful program of events for the society.
The renowned band has held the North West Area championship title for a record 11 times and is the only band to have represented England at every European Youth championship since the inauguration in 1988.
