I MUST write in praise of the NHS services I received over the Christmas period.
I was taken by ambulance to Bury General at 6.30am on December 23 with a suspected stroke or blood clot in my arm. After being seen by the doctor and having an x-ray I was seen then by a social worker and a Mrs Tattersall who explained to me that, instead of being hospitalised, I could be given the services of a carer night and morning for up to four weeks. This would enable a bed to be kept free for a more urgent case.
Happily, things turned out not to be as serious as first thought, but I was very grateful for the excellent care I received.
I am always the first to complain when things go wrong, but I have nothing but praise for the ambulance personnel, the staff in the A & E department, and the help I received at home.
