THE Centurions' success this season is down to efforts off the pitch as well as on it.

Head coach Paul Terzis points to the growing community spirit in the town as one of the reasons why the Centurions' season has been the best in the club's history.

"I'd like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to the community of Leigh for all their help," says Terzis.

"Many sporting organisations have offered their help and it's all brought everyone together. Leigh East have been brilliant in allowing us to share their training facilities a couple of nights a week. And the same can be said for Leigh Rugby Union Club and Golborne Sports and Social Club have have bent over backwards to help us.

"Only recently Tyldesley Baths have allowed us to use their facilities on a Monday where the players can relax and ease out their aches and pains after a Sunday game.

"In the future we'll be tying in Wigan & Leigh College and hopefully Leigh Miners Rangers.

"So the success we are achieving at Hilton Park is down in part to the whole town. It's great."
