NO-ONE was more pleased that Leigh left Featherstone's Lionheart Stadium with two more Northern Ford Premiership points safely in the bank than coach Paul Terzis.
The Centurions' head coach admitted that this Sunday's Challenge Cup fifth round clash with Warrington had been a distraction as he prepared for the game against Rovers.
"After the Salford win we'd been on a high for so long that it was difficult to try and maintain that," he explained.
"I'd tried to get the team to concentrate on the Featherstone game, but you always knew that the Cup was in the back of their minds.
"Taking that fact into account, to come to Featherstone and beat the third placed team was a fine achievement.
"It's always tough at Featherstone and I thought they gave us just the sort of work-out we needed ahead of next weekend. They gave it their best shot and never lied down, even when we went 30-10 up.
"But I think we showed our professionalism by holding them when they were playing with so much passion. I'm extremely happy with the result. There's not many sides will come to Featherstone and score 30 points."
Having seen the NFP leaders score their ninth successive league victory, Rovers boss Peter Roe felt he'd just watched this season's champions.
"They're the best side we've played, and that includes Keighley," he said.
"Leigh are a top class side packed with great players. They way they off-loaded and supported each other was a lesson for us all. I was very impressed and given our injury situation I was delighted with the way we stuck with them right to the end."
