ONE of Darwen Cricket Club's most loyal players has been honoured by the Birch Hall outfit.
The bar in the new Peter Lamster Lounge at the ground has been named after Jimmy Jepson, in memory of his loyal service for almost 40 years.
A ceremony was held at the same time as the dedication of the lounge and the bar was opened by Janet Anderson MP.
Jimmy was both a player and committee member at Darwen CC right up until his death in 1999. A fervent supporter of the team, Jimmy was at almost every game.
Bill Isherwood, former chairman of Darwen CC and currently a life member said: "Jimmy Jepson was a most respected member member of the club and was totally dedicated in all aspects of it.
"It is only right a great servant like Jimmy should be remembered."
Members of Jimmy's family were at the dedication along with more than 70 people for a celebration dinner after a plaque unveiling by Janet Anderson MP.
