THE canalside through Rishton become a blaze of colour over the coming months after a clean-up and planting session by Rishton Prospects Panel.
Volunteers cleaned up the area around the High Street bridge, planting a variety of climbing roses, hydrangea and dogwood saplings, all of which had been donated by the Tinker Brook Nursery.
British Waterways provided a barge to help volunteers get to areas not accessible by path.
A spokesman for the Prospects Panel said: "People are allowed to moor here for 48 hours, so hopefully a picturesque canalside will encourage them to come and look at the town."
