REGULARS had a hair-raising experience when they had their heads shaved for charity -- and even the manageress's son didn't escape!

Linda Maln's 11-year-old son Alexander let his mum attack him with the hairclippers to boost the funds -- although his cut wasn't as close as some.

The event at the Bull Hotel, in Scotland Road, Nelson, was part of a long fund-raising weekend to raise money for the breast and testicular cancer fund at Burnley General Hospital.

The weekend kicked off with a pay as you sing karaoke night, followed by the 'Hens and Cocks' night.

There was also an auction and a karaoke competition with cash prizes for the winners.

Linda said: "We are hoping to raise nearly £1,000. We have still got a lot of money for the same charity from last year so we will be adding the weekend's funds to it."

Money will be presented to a hospital representative next Sunday at 9pm.
