MANCHESTER Airport's green commuter plan, which encourages staff to consider alternatives to driving alone by car, has received another national award.
The Association for Commuter Transport chose the plan as the best in the private sector in their commuter initiative awards.
Manchester Airport's green commuter plan encourages its workers to make small changes to the way they travel to work by using public transport, cycling or car sharing.
Launched in 1998, it is a crucial element of Manchester Airport's aim for 25 per cent of all journeys to and from the airport to be by public transport by 2005.
Airport chief executive Mr Geoff Muirhead said: "This award recognises the efforts we are making to reduce the number of car journeys to and from the airport."
