A RESIDENTS' group has asked people to stay off a playing field as it is in a bad condition.
Lodgeside Trust, a residents group in the Whitehall area of Darwen, has asked for people to keep off the field at Watery Lane so that repairs can be done.
The group is helping fund a scheme to renovate the land and provide a quality playing field which does not become boggy in the winter.
Drains are being put in by Blackburn with Darwen Council and the land will be completely re-seeded and marked out as a football pitch.
In the meantime, the field has again become boggy and Rita Billington from the Lodgeside Trust has asked for people not to go on it as it will affect the work that is going on.
