I THOUGHT I would put pen to paper and write a letter about the National Health Service.
Recently my father was unfortunate to suffer quite a severe stroke. Everyone I seem to talk to about it seems to have the opinion that they did not get enough care from our Health Service, and they seem quite surprised when I tell them that I was suitably satisfied with the treatment he received.
He suffered his stroke on October 30 and was taken to Ormskirk Hospital. He was treated well during his stay in hospital (four months) and the medical care he got was great.
Apart from being ill, his stay was okay. The food was lovely and the visiting times were very flexible. The staff were lovely and caring and did wonders with the resources that they had available.
No one dare belittle our Health Service while I am about. I am really grateful for them for what they did for my dad. Naturally, I would like my dad to make a complete recovery, the after-care he is getting is really good, so fingers crossed.
Thank you very much.
