Haresfinch 3 Spotland Rangers 8
FINCH were unlucky not to take the points in an exciting and bruising encounter.
The homesters more than held their own against the title-chasing visitors and were only denied victory when the referee ruled out what looked to be a legitimate 'try' late in the game.
Finch's points came from a drop goal by Stuart Simmons and an Anthony Seabrook penalty.
Centres Ste Thomson and Chris Mason and second-rows Gareth Brown Brown and Ian Derbyshire ran strongly for the home side, the Franco's Wholesale Ltd. man-of-the-match went to prop John Woods, with stand-off John Jackson taking the Fran's News award and hooker Shaun Kilgannon also playing well.
