THE St Helens Schools under 14s team held Wirral to a goalless draw at Ruskin Drive at the weekend.
Meanwhile, the Primary A team had a cracking match against Liverpool before going down 4-2 to two late goals.
St Helens took the lead when Martin Seddon (Haydock English Martyrs) finished a fine move with a chipped shot but Liverpool hit back to lead 2-1 at half-time.
A couple of substitutions at the break gave St Helens more options in attack and Seddon equalised. But two goals in the last five mintes gave Liverpool victory.
Men of the match for St Helens were Martin Seddon and Daniel Lewis (St John Vianney).
