WHEN Jason Potter decided to put together his first short film, there was only ever going to be one location -- his home town of St Helens.
For 32-year-old Jason, originally from Laffak but now based in London, came back to his roots to make his first short film.
Jason held a four-day shoot in St Helens for 'Belial's Seduction' a 15-minute feature film, which he has written, produced, directed and raised funds for himself.
Jason, who works as an accountant in the film industry, told the Star: "The film was shot on 35mm and is about a man faced with a choice who takes a look into his subconscious mind to find the answer.
"It will be about 15 minutes long although I have spent about 18 months working on it, including the four days filming in various locations in St Helens.
"Now I have about four weeks to edit it before it is being shown to various film representatives at the Cannes Film Festival and in America."
The former Cowley High pupil added: "I was always determined to make my first feature film in my home town and we filmed in Victoria Square, Central Library, Lowe House Boxing Club, Nik Naylor's Body Sculpture Gym and town centre streets in St Helens.
"I would also like to thank all the local businesses who helped us out. They couldn't do enough for us and a special mention should go to Nik Naylor, Kenneth's Furnishings, J. B. & B.Leach estate agents, Merseyside Police and St Helens Council."
