FightingBOSS Andy Preece might not have been too pleased when two of his team almost came to blows at the weekend but loan striker Colin Cramb thought it wasn't too much of a problem.

Keeper Paddy Kenny and defender Sam Collins "exchanged views" shortly before half time at Port Vale after a defensive mix up. That exchange involved Kenny grabbing his colleague by the throat and the pair weren't far off a full blown fight.

Fortunately team-mates and the referee intervened and the official took a lenient view, preferring to warn them rather than send them both off which he could have done.

While Preece was less than happy about the on-pitch behaviour, Cramb, on loan from Crewe, didn't think the scrap was necessarily a bad thing.

"It shows the team spirit for you," said Cramb, who opened his account for the Shakers at Port Vale with a well taken goal to grab a point.

"It's not a bad thing really because a little more of that kind of spirit and we will be able to grind out more results like we did at Port Vale. The funny thing was they were cuddling each other by the end."

Cramb was delighted to score his first goal for Bury and the added satisfaction was that it came against Port Vale - just up the road from Crewe, where the Scottish striker plies his trade.

"I've been up for all the games but I was probably a little more geed up for this one with it being so local for me," admitted Cramb.

"It was nice to score and I'm enjoying playing alongside Jon Newby.

"I know what his strengths are because I've played with him at Crewe so hopefully I can help him out and chip in with a few goals.

"My aim is to do my best for Bury and then see what happens after that."
