MORE than £60 worth of jewellery was taken by a shoplifter from a stall at Darwen Market on Monday.
The thief, believed to be a teenager, came up to The Jewellery Store in the market and engaged the shopkeeper in conversation.
He then distracted her before leaning over the counter and taking two rings and a necklace.
The necklace had a gold crown pendant with green red and black gems set in it.
The thief was white, 17 years old and clean shaven. He was wearing a Nike baseball cap and a waist- length jacket which was possibly pale blue with grey at the bottom.
