IN RESPONSE to Chris Birch's remarks (Sports Letters, February 20), I would like to reassure Rovers' supporters that not all Burnley's followers are so blinkered.
Like many other Clarets living in "50-50" land, I work and socialise with rival fans -- and can only admire the way Blackburn have bounced back after their slow start.
It pains me to admit that the catalyst was their well-deserved 2-0 win at the Turf, but they seem to never have looked back from that point.
After our own poor run, we Clarets have been forced to eat some unsavoury-tasting humble pie.
We can't even claim superior support these days as all-seater stadium prices have driven Burnley's gates down from what many of us expected in Division One.
Still, it's all swings and roundabouts.
I'm sure Burnley will have their day -- hopefully, in my lifetime.
PAUL PILKINGTON, Frederick Street, Accrington.
