POLICE are appealing for witnesses who saw an attempted burglary in Rainhill Road, Rainhill, on Friday, February 23.
The incident happened at about 5.15pm, when a man entered the premises and was confronted by the occupier.
The 50 year-old female was punched in the face as the man escaped empty handed and headed in the direction of Warrington Road, Rainhill.
The man is described as white, 5ft 10ins tall, medium build and was wearing black clothes.
