WEST BROM RESERVES 3
BURNLEY RESERVES 0 EARL Davis made his debut in the backline for the Clarets second string -- but couldn't stop them slipping to defeat in the Avon Insurance Premier League.
Davis has come through the youth set up at Turf Moor and made his first start in the centre of defence.
He was flanked by left-back Lee Briscoe, playing his first competitive game since November, Chris Brass and Dean West as boss Stan Ternent gave a number of senior players a run out.
And, despite a strong foward line, including 14-goal hitman Andy Payton and John Mullin, Burnley couldn't break down the Baggies defence.
Matthew Turner, Joss Perry and Fernando Da Veld were on target for West Brom.
Burnley remain in third place in the league but the Baggies are just below them with games in hand.
TEAM: Crichton, West, Briscoe, Brass, E Davis, Bernard, Maylett, Mellon, Shandran, Payton, Mullin. Subs: Smith, Williamson, Scott, Salisbury, Boardman.
