PRESTON manager David Moyes will have no problem dipping into the Deepdale coffers after North End recorded an increased profit in the last six months.
At £3.5 million, turnover has increased by 28 per cent over the corresponding period in 1999.
Chief Executive Tony Scholes said: "We have improved the quality of our squad by bringing in international players: the purchase of David Healy and the loan signings of Brian McBride and Eric Meijer.
"Funds are available for further team strengthening if required.
The last 12 months have been extremely successful both on and off the field.
"To maintain a top ten position in Division One in the current season is a testament to our player investment strategy and the quality of the football management and players at the club.
"Revenue from commercial operations is also nearly double the amount earned last year.
"We will continue to build upon our successes to date; our first goal, that of securing our Division One status has already been achieved."
Preston, after promotion as champions last season, are currently riding high in the First Division on the fringes of the play-offs and a good run to the end of the season could see them sneak into the top six.
And Chairman Bryan Gray is building for a Premiership charge in the near future.
Gray said: "Last year I wrote that I was optimistic about obtaining promotion to Division One.
"This is now history. We now have a strong team on and off the pitch and are already proving that we can compete at this level. We have now moved on. Our objective is to maintain Division One status and then aim for the ultimate goal of Premier League football at Deepdale.
