SWIMMERS can make a splash once more at Bury's Castle leisure centre pool, which re-opened at the weekend(Sun Feb 25).
The pool has been closed since Christmas for maintenance and improvement works to turn it into a modern, well-equipped facility.
A moveable bulkhead has been built so that the pool can be split into separate 25-metre and eight-metre sections.
The bulkhead gives members of local swimming clubs a regulation-sized pool for competition.
The smaller section of the pool can be used for aqua classes, in the process freeing the old teaching pool.
A complete re-grout of the pool was also carried out while it was closed to the public.
Councillor Warren Flood, sports and recreation spokesman, said: "The pool has always been popular with the public and we believe that it will be even more so now.
"We look forward to welcoming back all our regulars and hope there will be a lot of new faces as well."
