GARY Megson hopes to turn Ewood into a Chambers of horror for Rovers boss Graeme Souness and his promotion chasers tomorrow.

Young midfielder Adam Chambers was the toast of The Hawthorns last week after marking his second League start with his first ever senior goal in West Brom's 2-0 win over Portsmouth.

And, with three more vital promotion points at stake tomorrow, the Sandwell-born youngster could yet turn out to be the Albion chief's secret weapon.

The former England Youth international may have spent the last 13 months living in the shadows of his twin brother, James, who made his Albion debut in a goalless draw with Port Vale just over a year ago.

But a mini injury crisis has now seen him follow in the footsteps of his sibling.

And, after announcing his arrival with the kind of explosive finish ace marksman Lee Hughes would have been proud of, he's determined to make the most of his big break.

"I was delighted to score and, hopefully, it has done me the power of good," said Chambers.

"I was hoping to play a few more games this season but it's not worked out.

"It's hard to say anything with the team doing so well at the moment and I acknowledge I'm going to have to remain patient for the time being.

"But, now I've been given my chance, it's up to me to make the most of it."

With money tight at the Hawthorns, Megson has had to work shrewdly in the transfer market, spending wisely on players like Jason Roberts and Ruel Fox.

But the former Blackpool boss is also quick to acknowledge the roles played by people like the Chambers twins in sustaining Albion's promotion charge.

"We've come a long way in the last 12 months and a lot of players in my team a year ago were kicking the ball around in reserve football," said Megson.

"I've not bought players from the Premiership and I haven't got men who are on massive wages yet we are still viewed in the same way as those teams who spend millions.

"Adam is a prime example of that -- I thought he worked his socks off against Portsmouth last week.

"It was an important goal and he took it very well."

Albion's victory over Pompey ended a run of four games without a win.

But, with three points currently separating West Brom from Rovers, Megson knows the importance of a victory at Ewood tomorrow.

And he is prepared to sacrifice his footballing principles in order to come away with the desired result.

"We'll always try and win games as attractively as we can but points have got to be the priority right now for us," said Megson.

"Obviously, I'd like us to win matches with free-flowing entertaining football.

"That, however, is not always possible.

"You won't hear me grumbling too much if we pick up three points every game -- however entertaining or not the football is."

Megson faces a selection dilemma with Des Lyttle and Igor Balis both fit again after missing out last week.

But the Albion boss will have to cope without curry-loving forward Lee Hughes tomorrow because the 18-goal hot-shot is serving the second game of a two-match ban.
