THE North West Air Ambulance has received a donation from the Prince of Wales' Charitable Foundation towards its life-saving work.
The air ambulance, which is currently funded by the support of the people of the North West and the AA - supported National Association of Air Ambulance Services (NAAAS), is already a familiar sight in the Northwest.
Since it went into operation in May 1999, it has flown more than 1,000 life - saving missions.
Fund-raiser, Linda Brislin sees the donation as affirmation of the air ambulance's vital work.
"We are very grateful for this donation, which will help the North West Air Ambulance continue to perform an important service. We depend on the support of organisations like the Prince of Wales Charitable Foundation and NAAAS as well as the people of the Northwest and I hope this will inspire other supporters to come forward."
Nigel Webb of NAAAS said: "NAAAS is able to offer funding to air ambulance services around the country thanks to the substantial support we receive from the AA. It is encouraging to see respected organisation acknowledging the vital role air ambulances fulfil."
