THE four museums of Preston have united to produce a new leaflet to help promote their services and increase visitors.
This is the first time that the Harris Museum and Art Gallery, the Museum of Lancashire the Queen's Lancashire Regiment museum and the new National Football Museum, in Deepdale, have united to market the town to museum goers.
The colourful publication is designed to appeal to Prestonians and visitors alike and gives an introduction to each museum.
It provides people with a guide to the kind of exhibitions visitors can expect to find at each museum as well as practical information on opening times and the location of each attraction.
Alexandra Walker, head of Arts and Heritage at the Harris Museum and Art Gallery, joined Tourist Information officer Petra Savage, head of Art and Heritage at the Harris Museum, assistant curator at the Queen's Lancashire Regiment museum, Garry Smith, and county museum officer Edmund Southworth to promote the leaflet.
She said: "The leaflet gives a flavour of the richness and diversity of our services and it will encourage as many people as possible to enjoy visiting all four museums, whether they live locally or have travelled to the town. There's no doubt that we have something for everyone."
Organisations interested in displaying or distributing copies of the leaflet should contact Hilary Ryan at the Harris Museum and Art Gallery on 01772 905411.
