STAFF, pupils and parents at Casterton primary school, Burnley, are celebrating a double Ofsted success.
Following on from a successful Ofsted inspection report in December the Thames Avenue school has been chosen as only one of seven in the country for the filming of a training video.
The school achieved the double when teachers Nicola Tomlinson and Susan Dean were selected to become leading literacy teachers to share their knowledge and expertise of English teaching across the country.
Head teacher Judith Williams said: "Following on from the successful Ofsted report the school was asked if we would be willing to let them make a training video to be used with Ofsted inspectors and headteachers as only one of seven in the country."
The film crew is at the school three days this week videoing lessons in music, geography, RE, art and English.
The film also features interviews with staff and children as well as general shots of children at play and coming into school.
Mrs Williams commented: "The children and parents were briefed about what is happening and everyone is excited and thrilled at the honour of being chosen."
It is rare that two teachers in one school are selected for national recognition.
Nicola and Susan will give demonstration lessons and input into training for other teachers, helping to raise standards in English through the implementation of the National Literacy Strategy.
Mrs Williams added: "We are very proud of both teachers, they are outstanding practitioners and deserve to be recognised for their talents."
