A LITTLE girl has been re-united with her missing cat -- thanks to The Citizen.

It's a bit of good news for Greaves' youngster Lauren Murphy, 7, who thought her much loved pet had gone for good after not seeing her all week.

As we reported last week, the cat, who we can now reveal is called Amber, was injured in a car crash.

Lauren's aunt, Michelle Murphy, told of her surprise at seeing Amber in last week's paper.

Michelle, who had been looking after Lauren and her sisters Nicole and Carla, said: "I was reading The Citizen on the bed when I noticed the picture of the cat. I shouted: 'Look, your cat's on page three!' They thought I was joking. They couldn't believe that I even remembered what she looked like."

"Lauren and her dad had been out looking for the cat every night. Normally, Amber comes home every morning, so when she didn't turn up for a week we started to get worried.

"We were going to start calling some of the local vets, but fortunately we saw your paper first.

Amber was taken to the Bay Veterinary Practice by Sue Preston, whose husband saw the cat being hit by a taxi two weeks ago.

She suffered several injuries, and may need acupuncture after severely damaging one of her feet.
