A POPULAR butcher has suffered a heart attack and died.
David Parsons, 57, owned a shop in Leyland Lane for 20 years and worked at Booths supermarket in Preston before his death on Thursday, February 22.
He was a friendly face around Leyland where he had lived all his life. David was renowned for his 'service with a smile' attitude to customers at his shop in Earnshaw Bridge, near to the former Leyland Tiger pub, which he ran until 1996.
As a boy David attended St James CofE Primary School, in Slater Lane, Leyland, before completing his education at Wellfield High School, in the town.
He leaves a widow Margaret, 56, who is a secretary at Runshaw College, and two children Stuart, 35, and Abigail, 30, and two grandchildren.
