Lytham 1st XI 4 Alderley Edge 5 A DISPUTED penalty helped to end LSA's run of success but they have only themselves to blame for a lacklustre first half in which the opposition scored three times.

LSA staged a first class fight back with Dave Hans scoring from a well rehearsed short corner routine. He added another only for Alderley to score their fourth.

After the disputed goal LSA showed their mettle.

Slick passing between Chris Kay and Chris Hadley resulted in Kay scoring and in the final minute Dave Robbins flicked home from a penalty corner.

LSA never let their heads go down but ended regretting their first half display. Lytham 2nd XI 2 Ulverston 2 A WELCOME result for the relegation battle, LSA started well creating against a side four places above them. Michael Hall missed a chance, Graham Shaw missed a penalty stroke but redeemed himself with a neat flick on the post mid-way through the first half. Ulverston then scored from a good penalty corner routine just before half time.

In the second half Ulverston hit the post and had a shot cleared off the line. Doug Green rubbed salt in the wound with one of his penalty corner specials. But Ulverston hit back immediately to draw.

The 3rd XI were beaten 1-0 by Timperley 4th XI while LSA 4ths were beaten 4-1 by Crewe. To complete a gloomy day the 4th XI lost 1-0 at Runcorn.
