THE former leader of Blackpool Borough Council, Ivan Taylor (left) is to be investigated by a senior member of another council.
The standards sub committee of the council voted last week to bring in a chief executive with a legal background from another council to investigate the former Labour leader.
Mr Taylor resigned from the leadership last year citing personal reasons.
It was later discovered that he had not declared an interest in a house on Enfield Road, North Shore, which he part-owned with his daughter, and which was part of a £30,000 benefit fraud. Mr Taylor's daughter, Lisa Taylor, was jailed for nine months in December for falsely claiming benefits over a period of years.
The standards sub-committee was convened at the demand of Tory councillors.
