RESIDENTS were celebrating when councillors agreed eyesore shops and flats in Hindley could be flattened.
Bulldozers will move in on Castle Hill Shopping Centre in Borsdane Avenue to pull down the three-storey building plagued by vandals. Most of the row of flats and shops built in the 1960s are now empty after falling into decline. Developer James Hall and Co Properties will then renovate and extend a block of two-storey shops and flats and a row of single-storey shops on the shopping centre.
