COUNCILLORS have put off a decision on a controversial scheme for homes on a former "blighted" Lowton petrol station.
Golborne Cllr John Hilton has warned about fears of petrol poisoning on the site which he says could be "storing up trouble" for future residents.
The application by Harlor Homes to build 24 detached houses on the demolished New Island Filling Station on the East Lancs Road had already been deferred and will now be discussed -- at the next planning meeting after further consideration is made on the health scare.
